Summer is almost over

Only another week to go and August will be finished. It has been a warm summer here in Yorkshire, but not particularly sunny. I think I'll be glad when it gets a tad cooler. Next weekend is a Bank Holiday weekend. My newest Grandson will be Christened on the 29th at the Methodist Church in Selby.

I forgot my password! But here I am at last.

Our holiday in Crete was great, was lots of fun with Jess. It was a long way to go just for a week though. The best day was the last day. We all went to a water park near the airport and had fun on the slides. It seems like a long time ago now.

Since then I've had a week off work, Mick had a couple of days off and we just lazed about really. Went to Whitby one day and to Thirsk and Redcar the next. It was sooo cold at the coast. The beaches were empty and we were able to take Ben our black Labrador on to them. He loves to swim in the sea.

I'm busy getting ready for Christmas now. It's hard when you work full time. I've made 2 large Christmas cakes and 1 smaller one. We cut in to the smaller one this evening and it's really good, moist and rich.

Sunday and it should be a day of rest

Mick and I are going to Crete on Tuesday with Ruth, Mark and Jessica. We have a friend coming tomorrow night, to stay whilst we are away, he'll house sit and look after the dog and cat. So, I've been busy getting the guestroom ready and have also started packing.

This gives me less time for knitting. Infact I'm going to have to hide my knitting away soon as Ruth, Mark and Jess are coming over for dinner and I don't want Jess trying her hand out with my needles.
